Solution

Hi guys this is Prasad.This blog is all about a single issue "Lumia flight mode".

 I am using Lumia 520 with "cyan", One day suddenly my phone got stuck in flight mode and it never set right. When i asked the service centre guys, They told me some bullshit and demanded 4600/- INR. I searched on the web also, couldn't find any possible solution. But somewhere i have seen a comment which says, it worked with "Lumia software recovery tool". I just wanted to try it as a last hope.

 And Finally it Worked out....!!! :)

 Just wanted to share it with al of you. Hope it works for you as well :)

 Steps to follow:


  • Download "Lumia software recovery tool", Click the below link OR search on the web

  • Once installed,Open the tool
  • When it notifies, connect your phone
  • It checks for the latest update for your phone.
  • Click install, first the update gets downloaded into your PC then it will be installed
The update will be around 1.5 Gb, you can disconnect your phone once the download starts. You need to reconnect it once the download is completed.
Then click install.

A big hassle here is that the download size pretty big and the max speed would be around 200 kb, even though you use high speed internet connection.

No option here,we need to download it anyway :)

Don't panic, you phone may restart few times during the installation process.

At max, it will take 20-25 mins for installatio.

I tried it on my 520-cyan. lets hope, works for the other phones as well.

    No dude its not working. Still showing flight mode. Tried everything from reset to recovery. I think the last option is to degrade the phone to windows 8.0

    My son's Lumia 635 with Windows 8.1 is stuck. I've tried everything, hard reset, soft reset, factory reset... all per Boost Mobile tech. When that didn't work he punted me to Nokia. Nokia directed me to windows recovery tool. That didn't do it.

    This is absurd. The phone is less than 2 months old.

    I had the same problem. Flight mode stuck and no imei on phone settings. Went to device care in malakpet, Hyderabad and they solved the flight mode issue and phone working fine.
    Changed Hardware component and update the software with specific revision of Windows 8. They charged 800 bucks for the repair.

    Same trouble here. Phone starts and goes into Start menu with first impressionis OK but then you will remember, or notice that touch screen is not working. Even psyhical keys wont do anything. After some 20- 30 seconds or even earlier it restarts automatically. Also, it is stuck in airplane mode to, only difference is, that my touch screen is not working and you cannot do anything. So I assume it is something like hardware failure, maybe even sofware failure, or something is corrupted. Lumia sofware recovery tool will work, but only this moment while phone is on and havent completely restart or turned off. So can you anyone help me? Just cant figure it out, how to solve it. Or am i maybe able to downgrade to Windows Phone 8.0?.

    Hi Prasad,
    Thanks for sharing. I dropped my Lumia 630 dual sim in water. I dried it for good 4 days in a plastic bag of rice in moderate sun. It started alright, but with issues. It has gone into flight mode and doesn't come out. If the issue is software related, the recovery tool might work. But I am not sure if it's a hardware or software issue.

    the solution given happens by chance to solve his prob but we need more inquiring dudes. don't post solution tested on a single device, try multiple devices then if out of 10 7get solved then you claim the solution works 70%. to be more precise the problem is caused by nvi(misconfigured modem data)that makes the phone stuck in flightmode. solution is take your phone to a nearest repair centre they will flash the phone wth update nvi ticked using infinity best software, I have tested many sets ok with this software , am cellphone repair tech.
